Miley Cyrus is not one to fly under the radar. The Disney starlet turned provocative boundaries-pusher has been in the spotlight of late, often a self-inflicted one, for many of the wrong reasons. From the infamous bong incident to her barely-there photo shoot moments and her own too-sexy and exhibitionist Twitter pics to her latest scandal—that reference to pot smoking at her 19th birthday party—Cyrus is definitely not winning any prizes for celebrity role model.

Still, the entertainer put her best foot forward and played a somewhat uncharacteristically sophisticated and classy role during her recent red carpet appearance at Friday night's American Giving Awards at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. Not only was her whole "look" appropriate and glamorous (if not a little grown up for the former Hannah Montana star), her attendance at such a worthy function can only be deemed commendable. Donning a gold, halter-cut Jenny Packham floor-length gown that was ever so slightly Grecian, Miley Cyrus shone brightly. Even better? The dress was sultry by virtue of simply not showing too much skin. Still, Cyrus managed to edge up the ensemble the right way with a sprinkle of Loree Rodkin's rock-star jewels, including some chandelier earrings and a cuff.
Miley Cyrus' hair and makeup was also spot-on, with her locks slicked back into a chic ponytail (no messy, wavy hair extensions to clutter her ensemble this time!) and her face bronzed and glowing with her eyes accented in gold paired with a pink lip. She was, daresay, barely recognizable. Boyfriend Liam Hemsworth must have been so proud of his girlfriend's glam transformation!
Just Jared Jr. reports that the American Giving Awards are the "first-ever televised celebrity tribute to community heroes, offering five charities an opportunity to share $2 million in Chase grants so they may continue their work in helping others." Now that's some seriously good screen time!
