Miley Cyrus, along with several other celebrities, has filmed a public service announcement called 'Help Haiti Home.' It requests help for those still living in a makeshift village since being displaced by the earthquake that devastated the country nearly two years ago.
According to a report from Just Jared, Miley is joined by Sean Penn, who has practically taken up residence in Haiti since the earthquake's aftermath--as well as Rainn Wilson, LL Cool J, Soleil Moon Frye, Edward Norton and Zooey Deschanel. The PSA will hopefully benefit the J/P Haitian Relief Organization, which works to transition these displaced citizens back into homes.
The makeshift village, called Petitionville Camp, is overrun with Haitians who had no place to go when the earthquake destroyed their homes. It costs about $1,300 to transition each person in the camp back into a residence of their own.
Miley Cyrus and the other celebrities involved are hoping that people will reach into their hearts at Christmas time and donate something to help Haitians still living in Petitionville Camp get one step closer to transitioning back into a home.
"Dreaming is not so much a right as it is a human need—and without a home, there's little else to dream about," Sean Penn says in his plea in the PSA. You can see Miley Cyrus and the rest of the gang in action in their 'Help Haiti Home' PSA by clicking here. Hopefully Miley, Sean, Rainn, and the others will be successful in their efforts to raise some much needed funds. "Help us help Haiti Home," they all urge in the PSA.
