Kristen Dalton and Carrie Prejean may have finished a close 1-2 in last weekend's Miss USA pageant¿and really, looking at them, it's tough to see much difference in the two tall, smiley blonds¿but there is one area on which they don't agree: that gay marriage thing.

Prejean, Miss California, was asked by pageant judge Perez Hilton about gay marriage. She responded that she believed marriage should be between.

A man and a woman, an answer she later said cost her the title. On the "Today" show Wednesday, Dalton was asked how she would have answered the question.

"I think all couples should be able to be recognized legally," she told Al Roker, who is neither tall nor blond, but usually very smiley. "And they should be able to enter into a union." But she also came to the defense of her fellow tall, blond, smiley contestant.

"I respect her opinion. The beauty of America is that we all have a right to our own opinion," she explained. "I'm proud of her for speaking from her heart." End of discussion? Ha.
