Now, I love Miley Cyrus, but there are just some movies I don't need to see her in. This list definitely includes the planned remakes of the Gidget and The Bodyguard. What you think I'm kidding? Why would I kid? This is a very serious matter people.
Moviehole reports that Miley is attached to star in Gidget, a remake of the classic films and television show that starred Sandra Dee and Sally Field, respectively. Miley would play Gidget, a girl who discovers her love of surfing and then find real love. Apparently, it's going to a musical-comedy and Zac Efron and Brittany Snow have been approached to star in the film with Miley, however neither Zac or Brittany is signed. Obviously they want Zac to play Gidget's love interest, but I don't know if I can handle Zac and Miley together. That might mess with the balance of the universe or something.
Miley is also in talks to star in a remake of the 90s movie The Bodyguard, which originally starred Kevin Costner, Whitney Houston, and Whitney Houston's voice. The Sun reports that Hugh Jackman has been approached to play the bodyguard in the film, and that they want to reinvent the original story. The new, and maybe not so much improved, flick will follow a police detective who is ordered to protect an annoyingly spoiled heiress after kidnap threats. Why? Why would anybody do this to the original Bodyguard?
Well, if either of these movies actually come about, it will be very interesting. The only movie Miley is officially sign on to do is the film version of the Wings book series. Maybe she can just stick with that, yes?
